BRIEF PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Human Resources Development
Overall Goal    : To improve and transfer the agricultural method for sustainable agriculture in Myanmar
                            To train the youth who will become leaders in communities

Activities :

1) 11 month-Training Program – rice and vegetable cultivation, poultry, pig farming, food processing, agricultural machinery / dressmaking
     and basic Japanese language – for 20 young farmers (10 male, 10 female) from all over the country
2) Training Program in Japan – advanced training for excellent ex-trainees to develop the human resources who can lead the field of
     agriculture or rural life improvement
3) Assistance system for ex-trainees’ own plans

2. Children’s Forest Program (CFP)
Overall Goal   : To establish community forest by instilling an understanding of and the skills to support healthy ecological system, as well
                           as a love for nature in children

Activities:

1) Planting trees and care for them in schools with children
2) Environmental education for children to understand why we plant trees
3) Work and cultural exchange with Japanese volunteers

3. Community Development
Overall Goal             : To improve living condition for people in Dry Zone

Activities:

1) Organic Farming extension program aiming to sustainable agriculture
2) Construction and renovation of school buildings
3) Water supply program by 3 mile-length irrigation canal from Chindwin River
4) Construction of rain water collection tanks and toilets (joint program with WFP)
5) Construction and renovation of roads and ponds (joint program with WFP)
