Building the organizational
capacities of the local actors in
Myanmar is part of the main
objective and so GRET-Myanmar
supports to the structuring of the
local communities towards self
reliance.
• Main
Objectives
» To support
the institutional building processes
in order to build and diversify the
civil society.
» To enhance the participation of communities in their own
development processes and governance
systems.
» To promote networking and exchanges among local partners.
• Activities

Training on organizational
management systems, leadership,
governance, strategic planning and
organizational assessment.
» Support to the development of locally managed institutions/
organizations as a platform of
development: Network of Farmer
Groups,
village-managed cooperative type
agriculture input retail shop, Chin
Organization for Rural and
Agricultural Development and Chin
Micro Finance Institution.
» Training on participatory approaches (such as Participatory
Action Research) and implementation
of local development processes
(village Action Plan related to sustainable
management of natural resources)
» Conduct of exchanges and exposure visits with other
development organizations within the
country and in South East Asia
countries.

Activities
Support to the institution
building of a regional organization
called CORAD through capacity
building activities related to
organizational management systems,
leadership and management skills,
strategic planning and logical
framework, governance; Support to
the legalization process of CORAD;
Training of farmer groups on new
sustainable agriculture
technologies; Conduct of on-farm
demonstration plots and Farmer Field
Days to disseminate the new
technologies; Training of farmer
groups on participatory approach
(PAR) and conduct of local
development process; Technical and
financial support to the network of
farmer groups on the elaboration and
implementation of Village Action
Plans related to the sustainable
management of natural resources;
Conduct of exchange workshops and
exposure visits addressed to farmers
group and CORAD team; Demonstration
of local technologies for
introducing renewable energies to
preserve environment.

animal health workers and
professional pesticide applicators

equipment, training / guidance to
