The Food Security Working Group (FSWG) is
developing a “Food Security Training
Package” which is modular basic to
facilitate capacity building for effective
understanding in food security related
information and contexts. The training
package is specifically intended for Myanmar
staff from member organizations of the FSWG.
This training will provide basic and
important information about current
understanding on food security and will
serve as a tool to bridge theory and
practice for all stakeholders involved in
programme and projects. It introduces the
concepts of food security and briefly
illustrates operational instruments and
processes.
Objectives of the training
1. Providing basic skills and knowledge of
food security to National staff
2. Supporting FSWG member organizations to
enhance their capacity in the field of food
security
Module 1: Introduction and concepts
• The conceptual framework of food security
• Different aspects of food security
• Concept of malnutrition
• Cross cutting issues in food security
Date of training: May 21, 2010 Friday
Time: 9:00 am to 2 pm
Venue: Local Resource Center
* Lunch and refreshment will be provided.
Target participants
Maximum two Myanmar staff from each member
organization of FSWG that could include
program staff, technical staff, field
personnel who are involved in the food
security and livelihood projects. It is
highly recommended that participants should
be consistent for up- coming modules.
